XOR Media provides high-performance media storage for advanced workflows for Dalet Enterprise

XOR Media (formerly SeaChange Broadcast), developer of high-performance, open, IT storage for media applications and private cloud data centers, has been validated to run with Dalet's media asset management- based solution. The integration of media-centric solutions from both companies enables broadcasters to efficiently manage and deliver their assets in high quality, as demanded by television and entertainment consumers of today. Storage management, cataloguing, searching, and workflow management will be fully file-based and centralized in a cloud- capable and scalable storage and PTA platform.

The XOR Universal MediaLibrary (UML) storage serves as a central storage for various media-rich workflows, including media asset management (MAM) and digital media factory. It is scalable up to 64ZB in a single global namespace, its storage capacity scaling linearly with its throughput performance. It is unique in being able to support NAS and SAN connections simultaneously, with no need for reconfiguration or gateways.

XOR's hardware technologies are based on open standards and work well with best-in- class applications like Dalet enterprise solutions. The Dalet media asset management core platform enables broadcasters and content providers to incorporate multiple formats, metadata models and workflows – news, sports, programs preparation, promo production, VOD, archives in SD and HD – within the unified cloud system of the UML. The shared built- in production tools manage ingest, logging, production, distribution, and archiving across systems and workgroups to meet the requirements of multiple workflows. This drastically increases the productivity of users in every step of the broadcast workflow.

With a comprehensive suite of tools to manage and manipulate data in a massive media library, XOR, together with Dalet, keeps broadcast media assets valuable and manageable.

"On one hand, you have a robust, fail-proof XOR platform with highly available data residing in a cloud. On the other, you have a complete suite of Dalet tools to manage the otherwise overwhelmingly massive data," said Stephane Jauroyou, vice president for worldwide sales, XOR Media. "Our objective in bringing together our solutions is to make media-rich computing manageable today and scalable tomorrow."

"The benefits of an integrated solution from a veteran storage provider XOR Media and specialized MAM application leader Dalet are too great to pass up," said Stephane Schlayen Chief Operating Officer, Dalet. "This is the message that the two companies would like to share with the broadcasting and media industry."
